Small cars are slowly but steadily becoming the cars of the future. They are small, thus easy to park and manage across crowded cities. Due to their small size, they consume less gas than sports cars, sedans, or SUVs. However, since these cars are becoming more and more common on the roads, the market’s demands have also increased. Nowadays, it is no longer sufficient for a small car to be cheap and easy to maintain. It should also have a high level of comfort, top of the line safety measures and why not, even an adventurous spirit on the road. Lets take a look at the best 2014 small cars:
Ford Fiesta 1.0T
The little Ford daredevil is the best selling car in the United Kingdom and it is also making conquers everywhere else across the globe. The price of the Ford Fiesta 1.0T can vary between £12,000 and £15,000. It has a 112 mph top speed and can go from 0-60 miles in just 11,2 sec. Moreover, it has a 99g/km CO2 emission and a 65.7mpg fuel economy. It this does make this car the best out of all 2014 small cars, we don’t know what would.
As far as car sizes go, the Golf is not among the smallest cars in the world, but it is compact enough in order to make for a good, small car. The upgraded 2015 version features a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which offers sufficient power in most situations. However, what we most like about this car is the fact that it offers an amazing fuel economy. Its cabin is also very comfortable, some would go as far as calling it luxurious. Its price varies between $18,000 and $20,000.
A newcomer on the European market, Dacia Sandero is the definition of a bargain. Costing only £6,595. Its performance is bellow that of a Ford Fiesta. It has a 97 mph top speed and tit can go from 0 to 60 miles in 14,5 seconds. Its fuel economy and CO2 emissions are satisfactory. These are not the best ratting that you want from an ideal car. Nevertheless, its rating are beyond impressive if you consider its price. Sandero is actual proof that reasonable quality can be obtained with minimum costs.
Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 122 Sport
Like always, high performance has a costs. This Audi model casts about £16,365. Speed wise, this car is somewhere in between the Ford Fiest and the VW Golf. However, its fuel economy and CO2 emissions are not at all impressive.
Which is the best one?
If you were to pick one of the best 2014 small cars, our advice, would be to make a compromise. If you’re in it for the speed and the comfort, go with the Golf. If you’re in it for fuel economy and convenience, go with the Fiesta. If you’re budget is as low as it can be, go with the Sandero. We can’t really think of a good reason for recommending Audi, other than it looks pretty nice.
